
        

Programs and Services
The Food Bank of South Jersey sponsors a variety of programs and
services within the communities it serves in the counties of Burlington,
Camden, Gloucester and Salem. If you know of a nonprofit organization
within our service area that wants to help those in need, or you
are a nonprofit organization within our service area already feeding
those at risk of hunger, the Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) can
help.
Services Provided
- Donated and purchased food programs
- Technical and start-up assistance
- Strengthening of current program(s)
- Grant opportunities (i.e. food/other
items)
- Training for food safety, nutrition
education, and other areas that support emergency feeding programs
- Information about government initiatives
including Food Stamps, WIC, and FamilyCARE
- Choice Delivery Program (van rental)
- Food for unique populations like
Halal and Kosher
- Direct Delivery
Criteria for Membership
In order to join the FBSJ network, an organization
must meet these five (5) essential requirements:
- Must be a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization and incorporated for the purpose of feeding
the ill, needy or infants.
- Food must be provided free of charge
to the needy and without any other obligation.
- The organization's feeding program
must be located within Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and/or Salem
counties.
- At least one current staff member
or volunteer must be ServSafe certified in food protection. The
FBSJ will provide training for your agency.
- The FBSJ is a supplemental program;
therefore organizations must have additional sources of food.
