The Choice Delivery Program

The Food Bank of South Jersey is pleased to announce a new service
to our partners. It’s called the CHOICE DELIVERY PROGRAM (CDP).
CDP allows you to reserve one of our vans (capacity to carry 5,000lbs)
to help with pickup and delivery. This new program will allow you
to organize your pickups and deliveries according to your convenience,
and closer to your operating hours. This is a premium service that
eliminates the wait and the uncertainty you experience when you use
our regular delivery service. Unlike our regular truck delivery service
where your order is on the truck with other orders, the van carries
your order exclusively. We like to use the analogy of taking a cab
to your destination versus taking a bus.
Here’s what you need to know:

You may reserve the van on Monday-Friday for deliveries between
7:30 am – 3:00 pm. At some point we will expand the hours
of this program

Weight limit per delivery is 5,000 lbs

Refrigerated deliveries are limited to a 30-mile radius
for food safety reasons particularly in the warmer months but there
will be more flexibility in the colder months

FBSJ staff will load your van in advance

You are required to be on time and ready with volunteers
to receive your delivery

To cancel a delivery, you are required to call Terry Hettel
@ 856.662.4884 ext 119 prior to the van leaving the FBSJ’s
premises. Please note that rescheduled deliveries will be put
in the next available time slot.

All cancellations need 24 hour notice, after which the
agency will be billed for the delivery cost.
Cost
There is a flat fee of $40.00 per delivery, plus .50 per mile.
This will be charged to your agency account. Driver cannot accept
payment of any kind.

Mileage will be calculated from FBSJ parking lot to the delivery
address.

Order will be pulled and loaded for delivery

Driver will arrive at designated time and will only unload
and assist in placing product to the front door

Driver is prohibited from accepting tips or any other
form of compensation. We appreciate the work you do and as such
find it our personal pleasure to serve you. Customer will sign
invoice to indicate that the order was complete and received.

Customer will receive an invoice within 30 days
