For eleven years, the Walk Against Hunger has brought together people of all ages, races, religions, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. People from neighborhoods and suburbs across the region gather to raise funds to feed our hungry children, families and seniors.
Your Walk Against Hunger contribution will provide nutritious meals and groceries to our most vulnerable neighbors – children, the elderly, the disabled, the unemployed and the working poor.
You can help. Walk with us.

Check-Out Hunger
Check-Out Hunger is an annual fundraising campaign—sponsored in New Jersey by NRG—to help those less fortunate by raising funds for regional food banks. It runs from September through January in supermarkets throughout New Jersey. Participating supermarkets —Genuardi’s, Pathmark, ShopRite, SuperFresh, Wawa and Wegman’s—place donation slips for $1, $3 or $5 dollars at their check-out counters.
Each time you shop, choose one of the donation slips and your cashier will scan it onto your grocery bill. Every cent of your donation goes directly to your local Food Bank to help those in need within our region.
In the southern New Jersey counties of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem, the Food Bank of South Jersey is the beneficiary of Check-Out Hunger. It’s a simple yet highly-effective campaign that allows everyone to get involved in providing food to our neighbors who are suffering from food insecurity.
On your next grocery shopping trip, please visit your neighborhood Genuardi’s, Pathmark, ShopRite, SuperFresh, Wawa and Wegman’s and remember to Check-Out Hunger!
